The Joss SHADOW Carbon Fiber BREAK Shaft combines advanced carbon fiber construction with the stiffness, power, and consistency required for a controlled break.

The aerospace-grade carbon fiber provides excellent radial consistency, exceptional durability, and a remarkably smooth finish.

Full Foam Core Construction

After more than a year of research, development, and testing, Joss refined every aspect of the SHADOW BREAK construction.

Unlike the playing shaft, the SHADOW Carbon Fiber BREAK uses a full foam core.
This construction increases stiffness, reduces deflection, and provides a solid, consistent feel at impact.

The full foam core also helps create the firm response and efficient energy transfer needed for breaking.

Specialized Two-Part Ferrule System

The SHADOW BREAK features a specialized two-part ferrule system designed specifically for breaking.

The ferrule combines 3/16-inch black material with 1/16-inch of Aegis material.
This construction provides strength and stability at the front of the shaft.

A phenolic break tip with a flat tip geometry completes the system.
The combination is designed for efficient energy transfer and a powerful, controlled hit.

10-Inch Pro Taper

The taper of the Joss SHADOW Carbon Fiber BREAK Shaft is also designed specifically for breaking.

The SHADOW playing shaft uses a 13-inch pro taper. In comparison, the SHADOW BREAK uses a shorter 10-inch pro taper.

The shorter taper increases stiffness and stability during the break.
At the same time, it maintains the familiar feel of a traditional pro taper.

Carbon Fiber Durability

Carbon fiber construction provides exceptional resistance to warping and everyday wear.

The exceptionally smooth surface also resists dings, dirt, and moisture.
This makes the SHADOW BREAK easier to maintain than a traditional wood shaft.
