The aerospace-grade carbon fiber used in the SHADOW BREAK provides excellent radial consistency, exceptional durability, and a remarkably smooth finish.
After more than a year of research, development, and testing, Joss has refined the construction of the SHADOW shaft system. Unlike the playing shaft, the SHADOW Carbon Fiber BREAK uses a full foam core, increasing shaft stiffness, reducing deflection, and providing a solid, consistent feel at impact.
The SHADOW BREAK features a specialized two-part ferrule system. The ferrule consists of 3/16-inch black material combined with 1/16-inch of Aegis material. This construction is topped with a phenolic break tip featuring a flat tip geometry, designed for efficient energy transfer and a powerful, controlled hit.
The taper is also designed specifically for breaking. While the SHADOW playing shaft features a 13-inch pro taper, the SHADOW Carbon Fiber BREAK uses a shorter 10-inch pro taper. The shorter taper increases stiffness and stability while still providing the familiar feel of a traditional pro taper.
The carbon fiber construction offers exceptional warp resistance, and its exceptionally smooth surface resists dings, dirt, moisture, and the everyday wear commonly associated with traditional wood shafts.
