The Joss Thor Break Shaft is designed specifically for players who want power, control, and the traditional feel of a wood shaft when breaking.

I build the Thor to transfer energy efficiently while maintaining the solid, dependable feel players expect from Joss.

A break shaft has a different job than a playing shaft.

Therefore, its construction must withstand the additional forces generated during braking while delivering consistent performance.

As a result, I designed the Thor to provide a solid connection that helps the player deliver a confident, controlled stroke.

Because I use natural wood, every shaft will have its own individual grain and appearance.

Therefore, each shaft possesses its own unique appearance and character.

I joined my father, Dan Janes, at Joss in 1979 and have spent more than 47 years building cues.

In 2017, the American Cuemakers Association named me Cue Maker of the Year.

Today, I continue to personally build Joss products in our Maryland shop with the same commitment to quality and performance.
