The Joss 1017 Pool Cue combines traditional Joss craftsmanship with the performance and distinctive styling players have expected from our cues for generations.

I build each cue in our Maryland shop with careful attention to construction, balance, feel, and finish.

At Joss, appearance has always been only part of what makes a great cue.

More importantly, the cue must perform consistently and feel right in the player’s hands.

Therefore, every component of the 1017 works together to create the solid, dependable hit associated with Joss Cues.

Handcrafted Joss 1017 Pool Cue

I personally build each Joss 1017 Pool Cue using construction methods developed and refined at Joss over decades of cue making.

Moreover, I carefully inspect each cue throughout the building and finishing process.

Because wood has its own natural character, no two cues will look exactly alike.

Variations in figure, grain, and color make every finished cue unique.

As a result, your 1017 has an individual appearance while maintaining the recognizable character of a Joss cue.

My father, Dan Janes, founded Joss Cues in 1968 and became one of the most respected figures in American cue making.

I joined him in 1979 and have spent more than 47 years building cues and continuing the traditions he established.

In 2017, I was honored as the American Cuemakers Association Cue Maker of the Year.
