Faux Ivory Cue Craftsmanship

The Joss Collector Cue HM017 is a Faux Ivory Cue that celebrates the classic designs that helped establish Joss as one of the most respected names in cue making.
Inspired by traditional American cue craftsmanship, this cue combines handmade points, faux ivory accents, pearl diamonds, and a rich walnut-stained curly maple forearm.
As a result, it offers both timeless beauty and exceptional playability.

Moreover, the HM017 reflects design elements that players and collectors have admired for decades. Consequently, it stands as a tribute to the artistry and innovation that helped shape modern cue making.

Faux Ivory Cue Design

To begin, the forearm features four handmade sharp points accented with green, white, and blue veneers.
Each point features a faux-ivory center that creates a striking contrast against the richly figured maple.

Furthermore, the points are carefully inlaid into hand-selected curly maple, which is hand-rubbed with walnut stain.
This process enhances the wood’s natural grain and creates remarkable visual depth.

As light moves across the forearm, the grain appears to shift and ripple.
Consequently, the cue displays the three-dimensional character that makes curly maple one of the most sought-after woods in cue making.

Because wood is a natural material, every cue develops its own appearance.
Wood is a natural substance, and its grain and color can vary greatly.
Therefore, no two HM017 Collector Cues look exactly alike.

Curly Maple and Veneer Artistry

Joss carefully selects premium curly maple for its beauty, stability, and long-term performance.
Before construction begins, Stephen evaluates each piece for grain quality, density, and consistency.

In addition, the colorful veneer combination creates visual energy while preserving the traditional appearance that has made Joss cues famous. As a result, the cue feels both elegant and unmistakably old-school.

Players who appreciate classic cue design immediately recognize the craftsmanship represented in every detail.

Traditional Box Inlay Design

The rear sleeve showcases one of the most recognizable elements in Joss history.
Six faux-ivory box centers combine with brilliant-cut diamond accents to create a timeless design.

Moreover, this traditional box pattern became famous through Dan Janes more than fifty years ago.
Consequently, the HM017 carries a direct connection to the heritage of American cue making.

The pearl diamonds add brightness and visual contrast, while the faux ivory boxes provide structure and balance.
Together, these elements create a rear sleeve that is both refined and memorable.

Hand-Pressed Irish Linen Wrap

A traditional black Irish linen wrap completes the cue.
Joss hand-strings and hand-presses every wrap to create a smooth finish and exceptional feel.

Furthermore, Irish linen provides a secure grip, lasting comfort, and dependable control.
For generations, serious players have trusted linen wraps because they perform consistently under a variety of playing conditions.

As a result, the HM017 delivers the classic feel many players still prefer today.

Stainless-Steel Joint Performance

The HM017 features a highly polished stainless-steel joint that perfectly complements the cue’s traditional styling.

In addition, the joint provides crisp feedback, a firm hit, and long-term durability.
Many experienced players continue to favor stainless steel because it delivers dependable performance year after year.

Consequently, this joint remains one of the most respected choices in cue construction.

Full-Core Construction Advantage

Beyond its classic appearance, the HM017 is built to perform.
Full-core construction extends from the butt plate to the joint, creating a solid one-piece feel throughout the cue.

Furthermore, the full-length core helps control warpage while promoting long-term stability.
Players immediately notice the superior hit, balanced feel, and dependable response.

Whether competing in tournaments or enjoying a casual game, the HM017 performs with confidence and consistency.
