Inspired by the Iconic 1983 Cue
A Tribute to Dan Janes
The 832C Legacy celebrates one of Joss’s most enduring designs. Moreover, it honors Dan Janes, a highly influential figure in cue making and a true innovator of modern American cues.
Dan built cues that blended performance with beauty. As a result, his work earned respect from players, collectors, and cue makers alike.
Therefore, the Legacy Series highlights special designs first introduced between 1983 and 1991, when Dan continued refining every detail for serious players.
His achievements include:
- 2003 American Cue Makers Association Hall of Fame
- 2013 International Cue Makers Association Hall of Fame
- 2022 ACA Lifetime Achievement Award
Consequently, the 832C Legacy stands as more than a cue.
Instead, it stands as a tribute to craftsmanship that helped shape the industry.
Rich Cocobolo Forearm
To begin, the forearm is made from highly figured Cocobolo. Joss selects this wood for bold grain, natural richness, and proven strength. Immediately, the vibrant color and dramatic figure capture attention.
As light moves across the surface, the grain reveals depth and movement.
Furthermore, the wood shows shifting tones that add warmth and character. Because wood is natural, every cue has its own personality.
The wood is a natural substance, and the grain and color can vary greatly.
Consequently, no two 832C Legacy cues look exactly alike.
Ebony and Cocobolo Rear Sleeve
Next, the rear sleeve continues the elegant theme. Deep ebony pairs beautifully with Cocobolo inlays and maple stitch rings. As a result, this contrast creates a timeless custom appearance.
Moreover, the dark ebony highlights the warm Cocobolo tones, while the stitch rings add classic Joss detail. Together, these materials create a cue that feels sophisticated, balanced, and unmistakably traditional.
Stainless Steel Joint and Linen Wrap
At its foundation, the cue features a stainless-steel joint polished to a mirror finish. Therefore, the joint delivers crisp feedback, long-lasting durability, and timeless visual appeal.
Meanwhile, a hand-pressed Irish linen wrap completes the cue. Players appreciate linen for its secure grip, smooth stroke, and traditional feel. In addition, many serious players still prefer linen for its comfort and control.
Full-Core Joss Performance
Beyond its beauty, the 832C Legacy is built to perform. Its full-length core runs from the butt plate to the joint. Because of this design, the cue helps resist warpage over time and creates the solid one-piece feel Joss players trust.
Furthermore, the center core gives the cue exceptional consistency and a dependable hit. Whether drawing, following, or playing precision position shots, this cue responds with confidence.
Proudly Made in the USA
Finally, Stephen Janes proudly builds the 832C Legacy in Towson, Maryland. He worked beside Dan Janes for over forty years and continues the family tradition of precision craftsmanship.
Additionally, the American Cue Makers Association named Stephen Cue Maker of the Year. Therefore, every cue benefits from decades of hands-on experience.
The 832C Legacy offers timeless design, proven performance, and lasting American craftsmanship.
There is no better cue made today.
