Hoppe Cocobolo Cue Design
The Hoppe Cocobolo Cue blends exotic hardwoods, traditional styling, and proven Joss performance into one elegant package.
From the moment you see it, the rich colors and dramatic grain of Cocobolo capture your attention.
At the same time, the classic Hoppe-style butt plate reinforces the timeless appearance that players have admired for generations.
Because the Hoppe Cocobolo Cue emphasizes natural beauty over excessive ornamentation, it appeals to players who appreciate traditional craftsmanship and understated elegance.
Furthermore, every cue develops its own unique character through the natural variation found in premium hardwoods.
Exotic Cocobolo Beauty
The forearm features genuine Cocobolo sourced from South America.
This remarkable hardwood often displays a kaleidoscope of colors that range from yellow and orange to deep red and rich brown.
In addition, many pieces feature dramatic black or purple streaks that add depth and personality.
As light moves across the surface, the grain reveals remarkable movement and visual texture.
Consequently, every cue becomes a unique expression of nature’s artistry.
Before any Cocobolo enters production, we carefully evaluate its density, grain quality, and stability.
Therefore, only premium wood earns a place in a Joss cue.
Curly Maple Ringwork and Hoppe Styling
The rear sleeve continues the elegant theme with rings of Cocobolo and highly figured curly maple. Between these rings, Cocobolo rectangles create visual balance while highlighting the natural contrast between the two woods.
Our curly maple comes from Canada and features the rippling figure that has made it one of the most respected woods in cue making. Often called fiddle-back maple because of its use in fine violins, curly maple creates a stunning three-dimensional effect as light moves across its surface.
The traditional Hoppe-style butt plate completes the cue and gives it an unmistakable old-school custom appearance. Consequently, the design pays tribute to classic American cue making while remaining timeless and relevant today.
Traditional Feel and Full-Core Performance
Master cue makers have trusted Irish linen wraps for generations.
Likewise, Joss has proudly offered Irish linen wraps since the beginning.
For the Joss 20140C, we hand-press traditional black-and-white-speckled Irish linen to perfection.
As a result, the wrap provides a secure grip, excellent durability, and the classic feel serious players continue to appreciate.
We also hand-polish the stainless-steel joint to a mirror finish.
Therefore, the cue delivers crisp feedback, dependable strength, and lasting visual appeal.
Beyond its beauty, the Joss 20140C features full-core construction extending from the butt plate to the joint.
Consequently, the cue offers superior resistance to warpage, increased structural integrity, and the solid one-piece feel that players consistently praise.
Furthermore, the full-core design transfers energy efficiently throughout the cue.
As a result, players experience greater consistency, superior feedback, and a dependable hit shot after shot.
