Five Point Cocobolo Tradition
The Five Point Cocobolo design represents everything players appreciate about traditional American cue making.
From the rich colors of exotic Cocobolo to the striking five-point forearm, this cue captures the timeless style that has made Joss respected for generations.
Moreover, every Five Point Cocobolo cue combines classic beauty with the dependable performance serious players demand.
The forearm begins with high-figure curly maple sourced from Canada.
Because curly maple displays a distinctive rippling grain pattern, it creates a remarkable three-dimensional appearance.
Often called fiddle-back maple because of its use in fine violins, this premium wood remains one of the most sought-after materials in cue making.
Before any maple reaches the shop floor, we carefully grade it for density, grain quality, and visual character.
As a result, only exceptional lumber becomes part of a Joss cue.
Five Point Cocobolo Design
Five beautifully executed points flow into the curly maple forearm.
Each point features multiple color veneers that create depth, contrast, and visual excitement.
At the center of every point sits solid Cocobolo, perfectly matching the rear sleeve.
This traditional point configuration has remained popular for decades because it balances elegance with bold custom styling.
Consequently, the cue immediately attracts attention while maintaining a timeless appearance.
Cocobolo itself is one of the most prized woods in custom cue making.
Native to South America, it displays an incredible range of colors, including yellow, orange, red, brown, and deep black streaks.
Therefore, every cue showcases a unique combination of natural beauty.
The rear sleeve continues the Cocobolo theme and is finished with a classic Hoppe-style butt plate.
Together, these elements create a cue that truly screams tradition.
Wood is a natural substance, and the grain and color can vary greatly.
Traditional Irish Linen Performance
To complement the classic design, Joss fits this cue with a traditional black Irish linen wrap featuring white specks.
We hand-press every wrap to provide a smooth finish, excellent durability, and a comfortable grip.
For generations, master cue makers have relied on Irish linen because it delivers dependable control and a consistent feel.
Likewise, Joss has proudly offered linen wraps since the beginning.
Full-Core Five Point Cocobolo Construction
Beyond its appearance, the Five Point Cocobolo cue delivers the solid hit that players expect from Joss.
The full-length core extends from the butt plate to the joint.
Consequently, the cue offers superior structural integrity, improved resistance to warpage, and the one-piece feel that has become a hallmark of Joss construction.
In addition, the mirror-polished stainless-steel joint provides crisp feedback, long-lasting durability, and classic visual appeal.
Whether you are running racks, playing position shots, or competing under pressure, this cue responds with confidence and consistency.
