Description

Five Point Bocote Tradition

The Five Point Bocote cue captures the timeless style that has made Joss a respected name in American cue making for generations.
From its beautifully figured curly maple forearm to its exotic Bocote accents, this cue delivers classic looks and proven performance.
Moreover, the Five Point Bocote design blends traditional craftsmanship with the solid hit serious players expect from a Joss cue.

The forearm begins with premium curly maple sourced from Canada.
Known for its rippling, three-dimensional appearance, curly maple has long been prized by cue makers and instrument builders alike.
Often called fiddle-back maple because of its use in fine violins, this wood creates remarkable visual depth and movement.

Before any maple becomes part of a Joss cue, we carefully evaluate its density, grain quality, and overall figure.
As a result, only select lumber earns its place in our shop.

Five Point Bocote Design

Five beautifully executed points flow into the curly maple forearm.
Each point features multiple color veneers that create contrast, depth, and visual excitement.
At the center of every point sits solid Bocote, perfectly matching the rear sleeve.

This traditional five-point layout remains one of the most admired designs in cue making.
Consequently, the cue delivers the classic appearance that players and collectors continue to appreciate decade after decade.

Our Bocote lumber comes from Mexico and is known for its dramatic grain patterns, bold figure, and distinctive zebra-like contrasts.
Because every piece develops naturally, each cue becomes truly one of a kind.

The rear sleeve continues the Bocote theme and is completed with a traditional Hoppe-style butt plate.
Together, these elements create a cue that proudly reflects the heritage of classic American cue design.

Wood is a natural substance, and the grain and color can vary greatly.

Traditional Irish Linen Wrap

To complement the traditional styling, Joss fits this cue with a black Irish linen wrap featuring white specks.
We hand-press every wrap to create a smooth feel, excellent durability, and dependable grip.

For generations, master cue makers have relied on Irish linen because it provides comfort, control, and consistency.
Likewise, Joss has proudly offered linen wraps since the beginning.

Full-Core Five Point Bocote Performance

Beyond its appearance, the Five Point Bocote cue is built to perform at the highest level.

Its full-length core extends from the butt plate to the joint.
Therefore, the cue provides superior structural integrity, greater resistance to warpage, and the solid one-piece feel that players consistently praise.

In addition, the mirror-polished stainless-steel joint delivers crisp feedback, long-lasting durability, and a firm, responsive hit.

Whether you’re competing in tournaments or enjoying a casual game with friends, this cue delivers confidence, consistency, and precision.
