Joss 1009 – Cocobolo Hoppe Cue

Cocobolo Hoppe Cue with Timeless American Style

The Joss 1009 is a beautifully crafted Cocobolo Hoppe Cue that combines premium materials, traditional styling, and proven Joss performance.
Inspired by the classic cues that helped define American cue making, this model pairs highly figured Canadian curly maple with rich cocobolo accents to create a cue that looks as impressive as it plays.

Moreover, the Cocobolo Hoppe Cue appeals to players who appreciate traditional craftsmanship and understated elegance.
Rather than relying on excessive ornamentation, it showcases beautiful natural woods, balanced proportions, and the solid performance that serious players demand.

Because wood is a natural material, every cue develops its own character and appearance.

Wood is a natural substance, and the grain and color can vary greatly.

Therefore, every Joss 1009 is unique.

Premium Curly Maple and Cocobolo

Carefully Selected Exotic Woods

The forearm begins with highly figured curly maple sourced from Canada.
Before any wood enters production, I carefully evaluate its density, stability, and grain quality.

As a result, only the maple that meets my standards becomes part of a Joss cue.

Curly maple, often called fiddle-back maple because of its use in fine violins, displays a remarkable three-dimensional figure that appears to move as light passes across the surface.

Four cocobolo points create a striking contrast against the lighter maple.
Each point features a solid cocobolo center that matches the rear sleeve perfectly.

Our cocobolo comes from South America and is prized for its incredible range of colors.
Depending on the individual piece, cocobolo may display shades of yellow, orange, red, brown, black, or even purple.
Consequently, every cue possesses a distinct appearance that cannot be duplicated.

Traditional Hoppe Styling

Classic Design Elements

The rear sleeve features solid cocobolo and is finished with a traditional Hoppe-style butt plate.
Together, these elements create a cue that immediately reflects the rich history of American cue making.

This cue screams tradition.

Furthermore, the simple yet elegant design allows the natural beauty of the woods to take center stage.
The result is a cue that remains visually appealing year after year.

Meanwhile, a traditional black Irish linen wrap with white specks completes the cue.
For generations, master cue makers have trusted Irish linen for its comfortable grip, excellent durability, and consistent performance.

Every wrap is hand-pressed to ensure a smooth finish and dependable feel.

Stainless-Steel Joint and Full-Core Construction

Built for Serious Players

The Joss 1009 features a stainless-steel joint polished to a mirror finish.
Not only does this joint add timeless visual appeal, but it also delivers crisp feedback and a firm, reliable hit.

More importantly, the cue features a full core that extends from the butt plate to the joint.

Because of this construction, the cue offers increased resistance to warpage while creating the solid one-piece feel that has become synonymous with Joss Cues.

Additionally, the full-core design improves energy transfer throughout the cue.
As a result, players experience greater consistency, superior feedback, and outstanding control on every shot.

Whether competing in tournaments, league play, or casual matches, the Joss 1009 responds with confidence and precision.
