Color of Money

1986’s The Color of Money Tom Cruise, Paul Newman

I recently ran across an article on MentalFloss.com that reminded and taught me a few new things about the movie “The Color of Money”

I found it interesting that:

  • IT WAS PAUL NEWMAN WHO APPROACHED MARTIN SCORSESE ABOUT THE FILM
  • 20TH CENTURY FOX DIDN’T WANT PAUL NEWMAN OR TOM CRUISE IN THE MOVIE
  • SCORSESE AND NEWMAN HAD TO RISK SOME OF THEIR SALARIES
  • JACKIE GLEASON PASSED ON MAKING A CAMEO
  • THE CHARACTER OF JANELLE WAS CREATED AT THE LAST MINUTE
  • THEY DIDN’T HAVE TIME FOR CRUISE TO LEARN EVERY POOL SHOT
  • THE POOL CUE USED WASN’T A BALABUSHKA it was an Joss N7
  • SCORSESE GOT THE IDEA FOR GOODFELLAS WHILE SHOOTINGTHE COLOR OF MONEY
  • INTEREST IN POOL INCREASED FOLLOWING THE FILM’S RELEASE
